Mardell "Mardy" Grothe

Born: 2 May 1942, Minot, North Dakota
Mardy graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1964 and was Director of Student Activities at Beloit College (Beloit, Wisconsin) for three years before heading to New York City to earn a Ph.D. in psychology at Columbia University (1974). Living and practicing in the Boston area he developed a practice largely focused on group dynamics in the workplace and published four volumes dealing with bosses, employees, partners, and colleagues. In 1984 Inc. magazine hailed him as a pioneer in "business therapy", what is more commonly described today as executive coaching and team building. He has also published five very clever collections of quotes, starting with Never Let a Fool Kiss you or a Kiss Fool You in 1999. In our professional opinion, his quote collections and the weekly mailing (sign up at his website) are delightful.
