Born: 21 July 1951, Chicago, Illinois
Died: 11 August 2014, Tiburon, California

After Williams' father, a Ford Motor Company executive, retired, the family moved to the San Francisco area. Robin dropped out of Claremont College, where he was majoring in political science, to study drama at New York City's Julliard School. His intelligence and incredible energy have brought him success in straight stand-up comedy and a wide range of film roles, including Peter Pan in Hook, Adrian Cronauer in Good Morning, Vietnam, and the voice of the genie in Aladdin. Unlike most actors, it's a good bet that the words we hear were not in the script, at least in his comic roles. He suffered from depression, the Marin County Coroner believes his death was suicide.
