Quotes of the Day for 10 May 2009 – Mother's Day
Today is the day of busy signals - the heaviest telephone call volume of the year, at least in the US. Also the biggest day of the year for greeting cards. (I've given up on that, my mother knows that this issue of QOTD, and maybe a phone call, are all she'll get.) Mother's Day is celebrated in 150 countries around the world, 71 of them observe it on the second Sunday in May. A mother's gifts surround us throughout life, so it's hardly out of line to dedicate one day to remembering she who had the most influence over who and what we are today. Thanks, Mom, you had to put up with a lot!
