Quotes of the Day for 22 March 2007 – Water

Today is World Water Day. Living on an island in a region known for it's rain means I'm always mindful of the stuff. Water also shows up in today's history. It was on this day in 1733 that England's Joseph Priestly invented carbonated water, you could call him the father of soda pop, and on this day in 1941 Grand Coulee Dam here in Washington State went into operation, backing up an incredible quantity of water.
