Quotes of the Day for 7 August 2004 – Revenge

In 1878, Randalph McCoy accused Floyd Hatfield of stealing a hog, and suspicions between the Hatfields and McCoys began to grow. On this day in 1882, three McCoys (Bud, Tolbert, and Pharmer) stabbed Ellison Hatfield 26 times and shot him in the back, and from there a circle of revenge accelerated into legend. At least thirteen were murdered, over a hundred wounded in some way. Here, then, are some quotes on revenge.

     - George Herbert, 1593 - 1633

Life being what it is, one dreams of revenge.
