On some "this day in history" calendars you will find today identified as Ice Cream Cone Day. Although the claim that the ice cream cone was invented on this day at the 1904 World's Fair in Saint Louis was debunked when a 1903 patent was found, it certainly was at that fair that it was popularized. Fifty ice cream stands and a lot of waffle stands in one place: I suppose it was almost inevitable.
