Quotes of the Day for 8 February 2004 – Patience

The quotes:

Patience, patience, patience, is what the sea teaches. Patience and faith. One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach - waiting for a gift from the sea.
     - Anne Morrow Lindbergh, 1906 - 2001

Patience is so like fortitude that she seems either her sister or her daughter.
     - Aristotle, 384 - 322 BC

Let him that hath no power of patience retire within himself, though even there he will have to put up with himself.
     - Baltasar Gracian, 1601 - 1656

A handful of patience is worth more than a bushel of brains.
     - Dutch proverb

Have patience with all things, but chiefly have patience with yourself. Do not lose courage in considering your own imperfections, but instantly set about remedying them - every day begin the task anew.
     - Francis de Sales, 1567 - 1622

You can learn many things from children. How much patience you have, for instance.
     - Franklin P. Jones
