Quotes of the Day for 26 January 2003 – Return

General Douglas MacArthur, born at Little Rock, Arkansas on this day in 1880, once said, "We are not retreating - we are advancing in another direction." On another occasion he said, "I came through and I shall return." I could have chosen quotes from MacArthur, but instead I decided to let his most famous quote determine today's theme.

In this, the task and mighty labor lies.
     - John Dryden, 1631 - 1700
