Quotes of the Day for 23 August 2002 – Dance

Eugene Curran Kelly was born at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on this day in 1912. He wanted to play baseball, but his athletic strengths were diverted to more artistic pursuits. When I think of Kelly, I think of "Singing in the Rain," an amazing demonstration of talent. Today's theme is in honor of this joyful dancer.
