15 April, the statutory deadline for filing and paying personal income tax in the United States. The Postal Service will be keeping late hours today for those who wish to pay at the last possible instant. I'm not sure I know anyone who actually files their taxes on the 15th - those who expected a refund filed in February, everyone else is filing for an extension in hopes that a few more months of careful study will change the bad news.
