Quotes of the Day for 27 November 2001 – Proverbs

There are dozens of proverbs, those little snippets of wit and wisdom identified only by nation of origin, in the database here. I did a quick search, eliminated any that I had used before, cut it down to one per country, and even then I had too many. I tossed about half of those, and when I couldn't bear to cut any more I was left with an even dozen.
