Quotes of the Day for 25 October 2001 – Pablo Picasso

Pablo Picasso Lopez was born at Malaga, Spain on this day in 1881. Legend says that young Picasso once painted a picture so compelling that his artist father gathered up his own brushes and gave them to the son, never to paint again. His images made a profound affect on the world, his words aren't bad, either.

Never permit a dichotomy to rule your life, a dichotomy in which you hate what you do so you can have pleasure in your spare time. Look for a situation in which your work will give you as much happiness as your spare time.

Some painters transform the sun into a yellow spot; others transform a yellow spot into the sun.
