Quotes of the Day for 1 September 2001 – Phones

Between local phone service (six lines), internet connections, long distance, and cellular service I end up shelling out about $800 a month - I take my phones seriously. Today I'll take Phones as a theme for quotes of the day. It was on this day in 1878 that Emma Nutt of Boston became the first woman telephone operator. Also, Lily Tomlin, whose Ernestine character on Laugh In became everyone's strongest image of the telephone operator, was born on this day in 1939.
