Abraham Lincoln signed the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution on this day in 1865, it was ratified in December of the same year. As important as this event was, and it is observed as National Freedom Day, freedom can't be provided by a stroke of the pen, in fact it must be fought for at all times.
