Quotes of the Day for 1 December 2000 – Deafness

The quotes:

Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.
     - Mark Twain

The world is dying for want, not of good preaching, but of good hearing.
     - George Dana Boardman

When I was young, I was put in a school for retarded kids for two years before they realized I actually had a hearing loss ... and they called ME slow!
     - Kathy Buckley

The most happy marriage I can picture or imagine to myself would be the union of a deaf man to a blind woman.
     - Samuel Taylor Coleridge
