Issues Index | Next => I wasn't out of bed yesterday morning before the first e-mail arrived to tell me that I had managed to call the day the equinox in the e-mail version. Of course, it really was the solstice. But it was the first day of summer, a point made very clear when I did a few errands and saw a remarkable number of Corvettes on the road with their tops down. I couldn't tell if those drivers were running errands too, or if they just had to get out and feel the Wind in their hair.
The little reed, bending to the force of the wind, soon stood upright again when the storm had passed over. We listen too much to the telephone and too little to nature. The wind is one of my sounds.
