Issues Index | Next => Through most of recorded history, the new year began in March, but for the last four centuries or so we've marked this day as the start of a new year. That makes me hopeful, and I plan to take advantage of it. May your New Year be a good fresh Beginning and bring you joy and prosperity.
All great deeds and all great thoughts have a ridiculous beginning. Great works are often born on a street corner or in a restaurant's revolving door. It is no disgrace to start all over. It is usually an opportunity. You're going to have to find out where you want to go. And then you've got to start going there. But immediately. You can't afford to lose a minute. Fear not that thy life shall come to an end, but rather that it shall never have a beginning. We are at the very beginning of time for the human race. It is not unreasonable that we grapple with problems. But there are tens of thousands of years in the future. Our responsibility is to do what we can, learn what we can, improve the solutions, and pass them on. So what do we do? Anything. Something. So long as we just don't sit there. If we screw it up, start over. Try something else. If we wait until we've satisfied all the uncertainties, it may be too late. Would you like to see quotes like these in your mail tomorrow morning?
