I went to the hardware store with a couple of parts so that I could find the necessary plumbing, seeking a piece that would allow me to connect the drain of the processor to the inlet, and another to connect the outlet to a garden hose. Hah! Those two connections required no less than seven fittings. Connections outside the lab can also be complex, and I had no problem finding quotes to match the theme that grew from my earlier frustration.
Contemplate thy powers, contemplate thy wants and thy connections; so shalt thou discover the duties of life, and be directed in all thy ways. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect. The ability to relate and to connect, sometimes in odd and yet striking fashion, lies at the very heart of any creative use of the mind, no matter in what field or discipline. Creativity is the power to connect the seemingly unconnected. When people sing together, community is created. Together we rejoice, we celebrate, we mourn and we comfort each other. Through music, we reach each others hearts and souls. Music allows us to find a connection. Would you like to see quotes like these in your mail tomorrow morning?
