Your Quotes for 10 June 2005 - Moon

From time to time I get requests for certain themes, sometimes I can actually figure out how to use them. A while back John was hoping for quotes on full moons or strawberries, saying that a girl was responsible for the combination. I didn't have any strawberries, and I'm not sure if the moons in these quotes are full. I hope he wasn't counting on my quotes to win the girl!

     - Akhenaton, Egyptian pharaoh c 1350 BC

Summer ends, and autumn comes, and he who would have it otherwise would have high tide always and a full moon every night.
     - Hal Borland, 1900 - 1978

Every man is a moon, and has a dark side, which he never shows to anybody.
     - Mark Twain, 1835 - 1910

God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass - grows in silence; see the stars, the moon, and the sun, how they move in silence.
     - Mother Teresa, 1910 - 1997

Beauty is a form of genius - is higher, indeed, than genius, as it needs no explanation. It is of the great facts in the world like sunlight, or springtime, or the reflection in dark water of that silver shell we call the moon.
     - Oscar Wilde, 1854 - 1900

The loveliest faces are to be seen by moonlight, when one sees half with the eye and half with the fancy.
     - Persian proverb
