I wanted to change the world. But I have found that the only thing one can be sure of changing is oneself. Nature gives to every time and season some beauties of its own; and from morning to night, as from the cradle to the grave, it is but a succession of changes so gentle and easy that we can scarcely mark their progress. The customs and fashions of men change like leaves on the bough, some of which go and others come. There is in the worst of fortune the best of chances for a happy change. I cannot say whether things will get better if we change; what I can say is they must change if they are to get better. If you dislike change, you're going to dislike being irrelevant even more.
