Issues Index | Next => Saint Paul wrote to the church at Corinth, "But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love." In observing Thanksgiving Week each year I have to follow that guidance, and thus conclude with Love as the theme.
Love is a medicine for the sickness of the world; a prescription often given, too rarely taken. Unless you love someone, nothing else makes any sense. There is only one happiness in life, to love and to be loved. We cannot all do great things, but we can do small things with great love. Love is the only reality and it is not a mere sentiment. It is the ultimate truth that lies at the heart of creation. You can give without loving, but you can never love without giving. Where there is great love, there are always miracles.
