Quotes of the Day for 15 November 2004 - Inspiration

I had two requests for quotes on inspiration this weekend, and realized that I could probably use a little myself. Part of it, for me at least, is the season - I do better with more light and longer hours. Of course, we could all use a little extra inspiration at any time.

Enthusiasm is the inspiration of everything great. Without it no man is to be feared, and with it none despised.
     - Christian Nestell Bovee, 1820 - 1904

     - Ernest Newman

Inspiration is an awakening, a quickening of all man's faculties, and it is manifested in all high artistic achievements.
     - Giacomo Puccini, 1858 - 1924

I write when I'm inspired, and I see to it that I'm inspired at nine o'clock every morning.
     - Peter De Vries, 1910 - 1993

     - Jack London, 1876 - 1916
