Some say that since this saint's name is so close to Judas, and in the Greek they are the same, that only the most desperate would ask Jude to intercede. Well, that's fine with me, I figure I should seek intercession from the saint with the lightest workload. Here are some quotes on hopeless causes.
God grant me the courage not to give up what I think is right, even though I think it is hopeless. There are no hopeless situations; there are only people who have grown hopeless about them. Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all. It makes no difference how deeply seated may be the trouble, how hopeless the outlook, how muddled the tangle, how great the mistake. A sufficient realization of love will dissolve it all. Where there is no hope in the future, there is no power in the present. If you are sure you understand everything that is going on, you are hopelessly confused.
