Issues Index | Next => Stuck for a theme, I went to the folder of requests. The three most recent were in unison, all reported leaving one situation to take another run at life from another place. One is leaving a southwestern university for a community college, planning to jack up his GPA. One is heading from Kansas to San Francisco, there's a contrast for you! And one is moving to Philadelphia, current location not mentioned. So for those three, and any others that are contemplating a new direction, here's to fresh starts.
Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending. Keep moving. You're going to have to find out where you want to go. And then you've got to start going there. But immediately. You can't afford to lose a minute. Waiting until everything is perfect before making a move is like waiting to start a trip until all the traffic lights are green. A year from now you may wish you had started today. I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand, as in what direction we are moving - we must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it - but we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor.
