Unaware of the "vacation hold" option on the website, he wrote to ask that his quotes be suspended for two weeks while he undertakes a journey. He didn't say exactly where he was going, or why it would take that long, but he's leaving for college - the first time he's been away from home for any length of time. So while he's packing, we can be thinking about these quotes on leaving home.
Laugh at yourself, but don't ever aim your doubt at yourself. Be bold. When you embark for strange places, don't leave any of yourself safely on shore. Have the nerve to go into unexplored territory. No matter under what circumstances you leave it, home does not cease to be home. No matter how you lived there - well or poorly. Where we love is home, home that our feet may leave, but not our hearts. Today the world changes so quickly that in growing up we take leave not just of youth but of the world we were young in. Going away, I can generally bear the separation, but I don't like the leave-taking. Being offended is the natural consequence of leaving one's home. I do not like aftershave lotion, adults who roller-skate, children who speak French, or anyone who is unduly tan. I do not, however, go around enacting legislation and putting up signs.
