Carl Gustav Jung was born at Kesswil, Switzerland on yesterday's date in 1875. I didn't recognize him yesterday because, in the world of quotes, few can compete with Bernard Shaw. Jung was an only child for the first ten years of his life, and lived largely in a world of the imagination. After getting his medical degrees, he continued this inner focus. He corresponded with Sigmund Freud with relish, but came to reject Freud's emphasis on sex as the root of his patients's problems. I'm no judge of psychiatric evolution, but he left behind a lot of quotes that seem profound.
