Quotes of the Day for 5 July 2004 - Noise

     - Alexander Pope, 1688 - 1744

Noise, n. A stench in the ear. The chief product and authenticating sign of civilization.
     - Ambrose Bierce, The Devil's Dictionary

     - John Lahr

He who establishes his argument by noise and command shows that his reason is weak.
     - Michel Eyquem de Montaigne, 1533 - 1592

Ten people who speak make more noise than ten thousand who are silent.
     - Napoleon Bonaparte, 1769 - 1821

Noise proves nothing. Often a hen who has merely laid an egg cackles as if she has laid an asteroid.
     - Mark Twain, 1835 - 1910
