Quotes of the Day for 13 May 2004 - Hair

Two years ago this week, I had my hair cut. The ponytail went off to Locks of Love, and I raised about fifteen hundred dollars for charity (largely through the generosity of Quotes of the Day subscribers). I'm keeping it shorter now, so I won't be going through that again, but it's probably time for another set of quotes on that theme.

My son has said to me that if you want to participate actively with businessmen today, keep your hair cut, stand straight, and don't talk about the past.
     - Cyrus Eaton, 1883 - 1979 (at age 84)

Men's fame is like their hair, which grows after they are dead, and with just as little use to them.
     - George Villiers, First Duke of Buckingham

Gray hair is a sign of age, not wisdom.
     - Greek proverb

When others kid me about being bald, I simply tell them that the way I figure it, the good Lord only gave men so many hormones, and if others want to waste theirs on growing hair, that's up to them.
     - John Glenn

Experience is a comb that life gives you after you lose your hair.
     - Judith Stern

Beauty isn't worth thinking about; what's important is your mind. You don't want a fifty-dollar haircut on a fifty-cent head.
     - Garrison Keillor
