<= Previous | April
Issues Index | Next => I normally make an effort not to repeat myself here. If one year I use quotes on a man's birthday, the next year I find another theme. I am aware, however, of two exceptions. Oddly enough, they are both in April. The first was ten days ago, I've used Thomas Jefferson quotes on his birthday three years running. Today is the presumptive birth of William Shakespeare, and the anniversary of his death, this will be four years in a row I've observed that auspicious occasion. That could be challenged, as we only are presuming today is his birth based on his baptism on the 26th, and there are those who think that he didn't write any of the plays with which his name is associated anyway. But the quotes are good, so I'll continue this annual observance.
All the world's a stage, Let them obey that know not how to rule. Not Hercules could have knock'd out his brains, for he had none. Thou shouldst not have been old till thou hadst been wise. True hope is swift, and flies with swallow's wings. What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.
