Issues Index | Next => I guess I opened a can of worms by giving equal time to the cats on Saturday. I promptly got demands for equal time for birds, iguanas, gerbils, guinea pigs, and goldfish. Some of those weren't present in the database at all. So here's to all the critters we share our homes with, and a couple of worms.
A three-year-old child is a being who gets almost as much fun out of a fifty-six dollar set of swings as it does out of finding a small green worm. I feel so agitated all the time, like a hamster in search of a wheel Life, according to Zen, ought to be lived as a bird flies through the air, or as a fish swims in the water. There is a natural hootchy-kootchy to a goldfish. All of us are guinea pigs in the laboratory of God. Humanity is just a work in progress. Of course, we are all worms - but I like to think, at least, that I am a glowworm.
