Issues Index | Next => The year 2003 draws to a close today. Most of us will spend a little time looking back over the last twelve months, some will be happier than others with the recollections. It hasn't been my best year, but it's over. Now it's time for a party. (I recommend doing any drinking in the same building where you will sleep, I don't want to lose any subscribers on the roads tonight.)
Celebrate the happiness that friends are always giving, make every day a holiday and celebrate just living! Everything that has a beginning has an ending. Make your peace with that and all will be well. Life itself is a party: you join after it's started and you leave before it's finished. Great is the art of beginning, but greater is the art of ending. Celebrations are the juice of life. After all, what is your hosts' purpose in having a party? Surely not for you to enjoy yourself; if that were their sole purpose, they'd have simply sent champagne and women over to your place by taxi.
