I never quite understood the phrase, "going on retreat." It sounds a little more purposeful than a vacation, a little more meaningful than just needing a break. But I need a break, and can't afford a vacation, so I'm off to the mountains to do a little art. This year I'll be trying my hand at cloisonné. It's not only completely different from what I do day to day, it's also completely different from anything I've done on retreat before. Expect quotes to resume next Tuesday.
