Yesterday I mentioned the Dutch purchase of what is now Manhattan for $24 in trade. A reader noted that said sum, invested at 6% interest, would now be worth many trillions of dollars, possibly more than all of Manhattan. Alas, I can't find the message again to quote the exact amount, but I did find some quotes on Interest.
